I remember Halloween

Ok. Para cuando escribo este artículo es oficialmente  Halloween y le había prometido al Padawan un artículo pero la verdad, entre que perdi mi cartera el miércoles (y apareció el viernes) y que he estado liado con una presentación, no he tenido mucho tiempo.

Y qué mejor que citar a The Misfits para celebrarlo, mítica banda estadounidense formada por el cantante y autor Glenn Danzig, reconocida como los padres del horror punk que viene a ser algo así como el punk de serie B. El grupo toma su nombre de la última película de Marilyn Monroe, The Misfits.

Siendo sinceros, no quería decir con «serie B» que el horror punk fuese de mala calidad sino que mezcla estilos del punk con los temas tratados por las películas de horror y ciencia-ficción, muchas de estas producciones de bajo presupuesto. Por ejemplo, el famoso logo de la banda es una clara referencia al thriller de ciencia ficción The Crimson Ghost.

Algunos de los temas más famosos incluyen  Dig Up Her Bones o Skulls que os incluimos aquí junto con sus letras  para dejar patente el estilo de peli de terror / serie B, marca de identidad de la banda.

Incluso bandas de heavy metal relativamente modernas como Metallica han homenajeado en varias ocasines a la banda de Nueva Jersey con temas como Die, Die My Darling o Last Caress que también os dejamos a continuación mientras que recomendamos que busquéeis los temas originales en YouTube para que podáis comparar.

Para terminar decir que, a parte de los temas, las versiones y la mítica calavera, el grupo nos ha dejado también el devilock, peinado puesto de moda por Jerry Only, bajista de la banda.
